Description: Universal Studios Singapore is a $1+ billion theme park being built as a main anchor for what is being called the Sentosa developments; a massive resort that will have a cost of over $6 billion (Singapore dollars) when it is completed. In addition to the theme park, Sensota will have a casino, luxury hotels, Festive Walk (think CityWalk), the Equarius Water Park, a marine life park, a Maritime Xperiential Museum, and many other exciting attractions.
As far as the park goes, Universal Studios Singapore will feature 24 attractions, with 18 being designed specifically for the Singapore park. At least three or four of these will be roller coasters. Some ‘recycled’ ride ideas that may show up at the park include Revenge of the Mummy and The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman. It is also likely that a Hulk roller coaster will be included, but based on this model, it looks like we’re looking at a unique design. Other rides that will make there way into the park are a brand new ET ride, what looks like a large open air water arena (Waterworld), and a Jurassic Park ride (not sure if this is going to be a unique design or not). In addition, the park has apparently left three large tracts of land open for future expansion. Since this is one of the main draws for the entire resort, they are going to want to keep a sense of ‘newness’ about the park, so look for those spots to fill up. A soft opening is slated for 2010.
